We're starting a new section on our blog where we'll be given a little back with little tips on how to care for you precious jewels and some info on how you can make your own with very little equipment!


Todays Tip....

Use your household products to clean your jewellery!

 You Don't need to buy in special chemicals to have your jewellery shining bright. Simple things that we have in our cuboards can be just as effective.

• Bicarbonate of Soda - simply add 1 teaspoon to a cup of warm water.  Drop in your jewelry (NOT PEARLS OR OPALS) these are porus and don't respond well.  Leave for a few minutes.... Sparkling!
• Toothpaste - Useing a soft toothbrush, one you don't use on your teeth anymore. A small blob of the good old plain white toothpaste and clean in circular movements. Wash off with warm water and it brings silver up a treat!
• Fairy liquid - Using a soft toothbush and circular motion, rinse with warm water and any grime will be gone! Your hands should be nice and soft too!

Ten things that will tarnish your silver:

• Copper
• Onions
• Egg
• Salt
• wool
• Rubber Bands
• Mayonaise
• Salad Dressing
• Latex Gloves (say no more!)
• Oily Residue on your hands

So the moral of this story is don't make salad and quiche with your silver rings on...
